2019 Yearly Update

So ALOT has been going on over at High Country Guide Service since the return from Alaska.  (We will be updating some Alaska trips and notes from the 2019 season as the Winter goes on).  Our fishing season has really picked up here in the High Country and the leaves are in FULL PEAK right now.  Might have missed it.

Our local streams received a much anticipated stocking and as of right now its raining, with more rain in the forecast.  Next week the state will stock more fish – and this November looks to be shaping up in a big way!

The wild streams around Boone have been showing their true colors with the transition of the seasons, and the browns and brooks are starting to put on their Winter weight.

The tailwaters of East Tennessee – the Watauga and South Holston – have indeed kept enough stream flows for the trout to sustain and thrive this Summer.  As we slip in to the Fall months the resident browns are starting to make the move for the pre-spawn.  The fishing is really starting to heat up over there as the nights start to cool down!  We are floating practically 7 days a week right now and would love to get you out on the stream!

David has been given Pro Status with Scott Fly Rods out of Colorado.  This company is the real thing – still making from scratch Fly Rods in America one at a time BY HAND.  Honored and beyond stoked to be a part of such a quality group.
