Our Overnight Wade Fly Fishing & Camping Trip is a fully guided camping experience based in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Boone, Banner Elk, and Blowing Rock, NC. Explore the lands around Grandfather Mountain State Park and Blue Ridge Parkway venturing further in to the wilderness.
For the fishing program you will fish freestone streams for wild brook, brown, and rainbow trout. After a day of wade fishing, we’ll make camp and settle in, and spend the night at our car-accessible campsite, complete with a hearty meal and crackling fire. Wake up the next morning for a bit more fishing if you’d like before heading back in.
This is an easy to access and approach camping and fishing trip for all groups and angling levels. This trip is a full immersion into Appalachian waters, with expert guides who know these hidden creeks by heart.

What to Expect During our Wade Fishing Overnight Trip
Our fly fishing guides handle the logistics so you can stay present in the moment. Expect stunning scenery, expert guidance, and solitude that’s hard to find anywhere else.
Day 1: Gear up and fish a stream in the High Country, targeting wild trout with custom-selected flies. Learn how to read the stream, rigging techniques, stealth approaches, and casting techniques from your guide.
Evening: We will wrap up fishing and drive a super scenic forest road or even the Blue Ridge Parkway to our campsite. Camp will already be set up in a quiet backcountry site that is accessible by vehicle. Enjoy a hot stream side dinner, fireside conversation, and a sky full of stars.
Day 2: Wake up with a hot breakfast and for folks signing up for day two we would hit the streams – for folks just fishing for the single day we would be on our way before 10AM.

Nope! This trip is open to all levels. Our guides will tailor everything from fishing instruction to gear orientation to match your experience.
We provide rods, waders, flies, and all camping gear. You’ll just need to bring appropriate clothing, a sleeping bag, and any personal items. We’ll send you a full packing list after booking.
We guide in protected areas of the Pisgah National Forest and other wild trout-designated streams within 1-2 hours of Boone, Banner Elk, and Blowing Rock, NC. Final locations are chosen based on water levels, weather, and group preferences.
Expect moderate hiking (1–3 miles each way) with a backpack. We choose routes based on your comfort and ability, but participants should be in good health and able to carry personal gear.
Yes! We provide a hot backcountry dinner and breakfast. Please let us know about any allergies or dietary preferences at the time of booking.
Most locations are off-grid. Your guide will carry emergency communication equipment at all times.
